Leadership

Leadership is about the team – the culture they keep and embrace; it’s about empathy for your customers, clients, employees and the communities where you do business; it’s about doing the right thing for the right reasons, being confident enough to take risks and responsible enough to think of those who your decisions and risks may affect.

John Anthraper was part of the IHOP system for 50 years. He started with the IHOP brand in 1974 in Denton , TX as an assistant manager. He worked various roles while simultaneously completing his Masters in Business Administration in 1976. John slowly moved up on the corporate side and eventually became a Regional Director in 1992 , responsible for over 400 locations in the Northwest.

In 1994, John opened his first location as a franchisee for IHOP in Arlington Texas.

John was well respected as a leader as he served on the original Board of Advisor group and a founding member of the BRFA (Blue Roof Franchise Association ) He has influenced and mentored many existing franchisees and his legacy of integrity , commitment and compassion continue with the Anthraper Restaurants Company today. Since his retirement in 2010 , the company continued to acquire and develop under the leadership of his son, Alex.

Alex has been part of the IHOP system since 1994 when he began working with his dad in Arlington, TX. Once Alex earned his Bachelors Degree in Finance, UT Arlington in 1998, he worked for IHOP corporate. In 2002 , Alex became a franchisee of record. Under his leadership the company has grown from a 4 location , Texas based company to a multi state operation with over 20 locations.

Alex has previously served on various franchise committees and currently serves on the Franchise Leadership Council as Development Committee Chairman and also on the Blue Roof Franchise Association as a board member.

He was previously named IHOPs Regional Franchisee of the year in 2016.

Alex is a strong advocate of community involvement and as such Anthraper Restaurants is an annual contributor to such organizations as Cook Children’s Hospital, The North Texas Food Bank, Military Warriors Foundation and the NAACP.

Alex Anthraper
Kim has been in various restaurant leadership roles and then joined the IHOP system 2001. After earning her degree in Accounting from TCU in 1996, Kim has been in various leadership roles with Anthraper Restaurants since that time. She has been an integral part of the companies growth and development. Currently Kim leads the back office operations supervising a team that handles HR & Payroll functions , Accounting and management of all internal processes. Kim is a compassionate , sensitive leader. Her work ethic , integrity and passion for the business is top notch.

Jim has been with Anthraper Restaurants since 2019 and currently leads the entire field operations team. Prior to joining Anthraper , Jim earned a Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems from Eastern Illinois University. He then worked as a field consultant for Jimmy John’s and worked with multiple franchise organization across several states.

Jim is a dedicated leader who embodies servant leadership. His loyalty and work ethic are unmatched. His sincere concern for his team defines the Anthraper culture.

Nancy Bacy is the Human Resources Director at Anthraper Restaurants with over five years of experience. She focuses primarily on employee relations, compliance, and policy development. Nancy thrives on building strong relationships and solving complex HR challenges. When she’s not working, she enjoys going on walks with her dogs, reading, trying new recipes, and tackling word puzzles.
